Unicamp, in collaboration with the University of Calgary (Canada), organized the
workshop São Paulo - Alberta BrainHack at the Faculty of Electrical and Computer
Engineering (FEEC) of Unicamp, Campinas (SP), from October 17 to 19, 2018. .
The event featured Brazilian and international researchers whose presentations
focus on machine learning techniques used to assist health professionals at
solving neurological problems. Those new diagnostic techniques have become
very popular in industry and the scientific community.
Our PhD student, Samuel Martins, presented the paper "Deep Autoencoding
Models for Abnormal Asymmetry Detection in Brain MR Images" which consists of
a new method, based on AutoEncoder neural networks, for detection of anomalies
in magnetic resonance images of the human brain .
